Inter Miami Signs Argentina Midfielder Rodrigo de Paul

Inter Miami has officially signed Argentina national team midfielder Rodrigo de Paul from Atlético Madrid on loan — as announced by both clubs today.

De Paul’s loan agreement will run until the end of 2025 with an option for permanent extension through the 2029 MLS season. The 2022 World Cup winner with Argentina will not occupy a designated player slot currently filled by Lionel Messi, Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquets.

“What brings me to Inter Miami is the desire to compete, win titles, and write new history with this club,” stated De Paul.

Inter Miami owner Jorge Mas welcomed De Paul’s arrival positively — a player who has made 187 appearances for Atlético Madrid since joining in July 2021.

Atlético Madrid has strengthened their midfield by bringing in several new players:

• Alex Baena from Villarreal
• Thiago Almada from Botafogo
