Kadek Arel confident Indonesia U-23 can win title after defeating Thailand

Kadek Arel Priyatna, Indonesia U-23 team captain, expressed his optimism after the Young Garuda squad advanced to the ASEAN Cup U-23 2025 final — defeating Thailand through penalties 7-6 at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium.

The match held yesterday ended in a 1-1 draw in regular time — forcing both teams to determine the winner through a penalty shootout.

“We managed to win the semifinal against Thailand through penalties,” stated Kadek Arel in a television interview after the match.

“Keep supporting us so we can become champions,” added the Bali United defender.

Indonesia U-23 team under coach Gerald Vanenburg dominated the match by creating various opportunities — but needed penalty drama to secure their final ticket against Vietnam.
