Xavi Hernandez prepares to coach India national team after leaving Barcelona

Xavi Hernandez — who left Barcelona in May 2024 — is now targeting the India national team coaching position. The former Barcelona midfielder has been absent from coaching for over a year.

During his three years leading Barcelona, Xavi managed to deliver two prestigious trophies — La Liga and Spanish Super Cup. The 2010 World Cup winner with Spain’s national team doesn’t want to stay away from the football field for too long.

The Indian football federation has received an email application from Xavi Hernandez. The 45-year-old coach must compete with more than 150 other candidates for this strategic position.
