Matheus Cunha reveals reason for joining Manchester United

Matheus Cunha reveals he’s not burdened by the pressure to solve Manchester United’s goal-scoring issues. Head coach Ruben Amorim has prioritized signing new strikers this summer — after his team only scored 44 goals in the Premier League last season.

The 26-year-old Brazilian striker — who netted 15 goals with Wolves last season — was brought in alongside Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford for a combined transfer fee of £135 million.

“The pressure at this club isn’t a burden — it’s a privilege because United is one of the biggest clubs in the world,” says Cunha.

“This is my dream club. When I first met with Ruben, I felt they were starting to build something very important and of course I want to be part of that.”

During his first summer press conference in Chicago, Amorim revealed that both Cunha and Mbeumo declined offers from Champions League clubs to join United.
