Ruben Kluivert joins Lyon, Indonesia national team coach’s son sets transfer record

Ruben Kluivert, the third son of Indonesia national team coach Patrick Kluivert, has officially joined Olympique Lyon, as announced by the French club through their official social media.

The 24-year-old defender — who previously played for Casa Pisa — has signed a five-year contract with the Ligue 1 club.

“Welcome, Ruben,” Lyon stated in their official announcement.

While the transfer fee wasn’t officially disclosed, reliable sources indicate Lyon paid 3.7 million euros to secure Ruben’s services — a record-breaking sale in Casa Pisa’s history, surpassing Nuno Moreira’s 3.5 million euro transfer to Vasco da Gama.
