Persijap Jepara signs Niger national team defender Najeeb Yakubu

Persijap Jepara has announced the signing of Niger national team defender Najeeb Yakubu as their tenth foreign player for the 2025/2026 Super League season.

The 24-year-old Ghana-born defender brings valuable European competition experience — he previously played for Vorskla Poltava in Ukraine and FC Prishtina in Kosovo.

Persijap Club President M. Iqbal Hidayat welcomed the arrival of his new player:

“Yakubu is our final recruitment to complete our journey at the start of this season. We needed someone with international experience like him. We believe he will adapt quickly and make maximum contributions.”

Yakubu’s presence is expected to strengthen Persijap’s defensive line — his European competition experience and aerial dueling ability add value to the Laskar Kalinyamat squad this season.
