Keylor Navas joins Pumas UNAM after consulting with Sergio Ramos

Keylor Navas has officially joined Pumas UNAM after consulting with several prominent football figures — including his former Real Madrid teammate, Sergio Ramos.

The 38-year-old goalkeeper decided to move to Liga MX after spending six months with Newell’s Old Boys in Argentina. The Argentine club will receive $2 million compensation from this deal.

“I’m here eager to give my all and perform at my best,” stated Navas. “I have the mentality to make history and win a title. I believe we can achieve these goals by working with humility.”

Pumas has strengthened their squad with several new players:

  • Aaron Ramsey from Wales
  • Álvaro Angulo from Colombia
  • Pedro Vite from Ecuador

Navas’s decision to join the Mexican club was also influenced by national team considerations — Costa Rica will begin World Cup qualification in September in Group C alongside Honduras, Haiti, and Nicaragua.
