Lawson Reveals Reaction to Sudden Red Bull Racing Boss Change

Racing Bulls driver Liam Lawson reveals that he learned about Christian Horner’s departure as Red Bull Racing CEO through media — a change that he says hasn’t significantly affected his current career path.

The Red Bull Racing leadership reshuffle occurred about two weeks ago — Laurent Mekies replacing Horner’s position, while Alan Permane took over Mekies’s role at Racing Bulls.

“I found out the same way as everyone else, through the media,” Lawson told Motorsport.com.

The 23-year-old driver related this situation to his early season experience — when he briefly served as Max Verstappen’s teammate before returning to Racing Bulls and being replaced by Yuki Tsunoda.

Lawson expressed his confidence in the new leadership — having worked closely with both Mekies and Permane throughout this time.

“Alan is someone very well suited for this position, has relationships with everybody, and is very motivated to continue what Laurent has built,” he added.
