Roberto Firmino leaves Al Ahli to join Qatar’s Al Sadd

According to Al Ahli’s official announcement, Roberto Firmino has officially left the Saudi Arabian club to join Al Sadd — the Qatar League champions on a two-year contract.

The 33-year-old player made history with Al Ahli — becoming one of the first three players to win continental titles in both Asia and Europe, alongside Riyad Mahrez and Édouard Mendy.

“I’m happy because we made history at the club during these two years together,” Firmino stated in his farewell video. “The best moment was to become the champions of Asia. I’m very grateful for this.”

The former Liverpool striker impressed in the Asian Champions League Elite by scoring six goals in 12 matches. His brilliant performance led Al Ahli to their first title in the competition, while also earning him the tournament’s most valuable player award.
