De Gea finally speaks about failed Real Madrid transfer

According to Cronache Di Spogliatoio, David de Gea finally addresses his failed transfer to Real Madrid in 2015 — a saga that became controversial due to paperwork delays.

“I will speak about all of that when my career is over. When things don’t happen, it’s for a reason,” De Gea stated.

The 34-year-old goalkeeper spent 12 years at Manchester United — collecting various titles including Premier League, FA Cup, Europa League, and League Cup.

After taking a year break from football, De Gea now plays for Fiorentina and has recently signed a new contract until 2028.

“That sabbatical year did me a world of good, both mentally and physically. I was feeling jaded and needed time to come back stronger,” added the former Spain international.
