Manchester United and City battle for Sporting CP captain Hjulmand

According to A Bola, Morten Hjulmand has become a prime target for Manchester United and Manchester City — both clubs are prepared to compete for the Sporting CP captain.

Sporting CP has made their position clear in transfer negotiations — the Portuguese club demands meeting the €80 million release clause for the 26-year-old Danish midfielder.

Jules Koundé from Barcelona has also drawn interest from Manchester City. Despite being contracted until 2027, the French defender remains in contract extension talks with the Catalan club.

Manchester United is also pursuing Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez. The Red Devils need a new keeper after André Onana suffered a hamstring injury — Villa has set a £40 million price tag for the Argentina national team goalkeeper.

In completed transfers, Manchester United has announced the arrival of Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford for a fee exceeding £70 million. Meanwhile, Keylor Navas has joined Liga MX club Pumas, and Italian striker Mateo Retegui has signed a four-year contract with Al Qadsiah.
