Barcelona Women Set to Face Liga MX Femenil Stars in Monterrey

Liga MX Femenil has announced a special match between women’s Barcelona and Liga MX Femenil all-stars to be held at Estadio Universitario, Monterrey — about a month from now.

The ‘Duelo de Estrellas’ will bring together the best players from 18 Liga MX Femenil clubs against the three-time Women’s Champions League winners — Barcelona.

“The Duel of Stars is a key step in Liga MX Femenil’s growth, focusing on player talent and recognizing their impact on and off the pitch,” stated the league’s official announcement.

Player selection will be based on:

• Season performance
• Index Score system
• Three fan-chosen players
• Two surprise selections

As part of their pre-season, Barcelona will also face Mexican runners-up Club America in Mexico City two days later, before starting their Liga F campaign against Alhama CF in late August.
