Brittany Force Sets Top Fuel Speed Record in Seattle

Brittany Force achieved a remarkable feat at the NHRA Northwest Nationals in Seattle — the 39-year-old racer broke the Top Fuel speed record with a stunning 341.85 mph (550.17 kph) during her semifinal run against Doug Kalitta.

This accomplishment surpasses her previous record of 341.59 mph set in April — though her elapsed time of 3.659 seconds fell short of her personal best of 3.641 seconds from 2022.

“Obviously the highlight of our weekend was in the semifinals when we made a killer run and went even faster than our national record. It’s really exciting for this whole team,” Force stated.

Force’s dominance in the category is undisputed — she now holds five of the six fastest speeds ever recorded in Top Fuel history. Unfortunately, in the final against Shawn Langdon, her car shut down due to an engine safety sensor issue.

This achievement marks a special moment for the Force family — about a year ago, her father John Force suffered a serious accident in Virginia that required intensive care. The 16-time Funny Car champion now focuses on recovery and has decided not to return to racing.
