Herry IP Leads Malaysia, Goh/Izzuddin Expected to Return to National Team

According to New Straits Times, Herry Iman Pierngadi’s appointment as Malaysia’s doubles head coach opens the possibility for Goh Sze Fei/Nur Izzuddin to return to the national team.

The doubles pair — previously successful as independents — now faces difficult times with their top ranking loss after failing to defend their Japan Open 2025 title.

Goh/Izzuddin’s last achievement was winning India Open 2025 — since then they’ve struggled to reach tournament finals.

Under Herry IP’s guidance, Malaysian doubles showed significant progress — Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik won Asia Championships 2025, Thailand Open 2025, and Singapore Open 2025, while Man Wei Chong/Tee Kai Wun claimed Malaysia Masters 2025.

“Goh/Izzuddin will certainly gain many benefits by rejoining BAM,” said former badminton player James Selvaraj.
