Keisuke Honda reveals key to Indonesian football progress

Keisuke Honda — former Japan national team player — shared his perspective on Indonesian football development after a friendly match at Brawijaya Stadium, Kediri.

In a game that ended with Asian Warriors FC’s defeat to Persik Kediri with a score of 2-0, Honda — who also previously coached Cambodia national team — shared his experience about ways to elevate national football level.

“Indonesia needs to send more players to European clubs — this is an important step to catch up with Japan’s level,” Honda stated.

The former AC Milan midfielder acknowledged observing several naturalized Indonesian national team players born in Europe — those who remain active in clubs across the blue continent.
