Santino Ferrucci Withdraws from Toronto After Warm-up Session Crash

Santino Ferrucci of AJ Foyt Racing — was forced to withdraw from the Honda Indy Toronto after experiencing a serious incident during the warm-up session.

The 27-year-old driver lost control of his car at turn 7 — hitting the left-side wall before ultimately crashing into the tire barrier at turn 8. Despite receiving medical clearance to race, the team determined there wasn’t enough time to repair the extensive damage to car number 14.

“The damage sustained to the car requires extensive repairs that cannot be completed to the standard of safety and performance necessary to race,” stated the team’s official social media announcement.

This withdrawal significantly impacts Ferrucci’s championship position — who previously shared 10th place with teammate David Malukas. This marks a setback for the driver who had secured four top-five finishes in his last seven races.

Ferrucci becomes the second driver to miss a race in the past two weeks — following Arrow McLaren’s Nolan Siegel who suffered a concussion at Iowa Speedway.
