According to the official announcement on fam.org.my, Malaysia National Team has decided to withdraw from CAFA Nations Cup 2025 — a tournament scheduled to be held in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

After previously declining a friendly match offer from Indonesia National Team, Harimau Malaya is now reported to face lower-level teams during the FIFA window in September.

CAFA Nations Cup 2025 is a championship involving Central Asian nations, scheduled to take place from August 29 to September 8, 2025.

The tournament will be participated by:

* Oman
* Tajikistan
* Turkmenistan
