Jay Idzes joins new Venezia coach’s debut in 8-0 victory

Indonesia national team captain Jay Idzes started pre-season with Venezia in an emphatic 8-0 victory over Real Vicenza in a friendly match at Falcade — marking new coach Giovanni Stroppa’s successful debut.

The former AC Milan coach implemented a 3-5-2 formation, fielding several key players and two new recruits — Mattia Compagnon and Bartol Franjic from the start.

Recently relegated from Serie A, Venezia established a five-goal lead by halftime through strikes from Fali Cande, Issa Doumbia, Daniel Fila, John Yeboah, and Compagnon.

Jay Idzes replaced Cande at the halftime break when coach Stroppa made wholesale changes to his lineup.
