Adrian Newey brings major changes to Aston Martin’s 2026 F1 car

According to F1.com, Andy Cowell — Aston Martin’s CEO and team principal — revealed the impact of Adrian Newey‘s arrival as technical partner and shareholder since March.

“His experience is extraordinary — he spends hours at the drawing board thinking about suspension concepts, monocoque, engine positioning, and driver placement,” Cowell explained.

“He’s creative and likes to push boundaries. Engineers initially struggle with fitting more components into smaller spaces, but Adrian helps by providing detailed solutions,” he added.

The 2026 car development has accelerated thanks to Newey’s presence. Recently, Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll visited the wind tunnel facility to view the latest model.

“Our pace in making changes to the 2026 model is faster than ever before — it’s like watching 100 people run 100 meters in under 10 seconds with perfect baton handovers,” Cowell stated.
