Bagnaia Claims Czech GP Pole in Dramatic Final Minutes

Francesco Bagnaia achieved a remarkable feat by claiming his first pole position of the season at the Czech GP — an accomplishment that was initially in doubt due to technical issues.

Drama unfolded when Marco Bezzecchi crashed at Turn 1, triggering yellow flags that limited other riders’ opportunities to improve their lap times. The situation intensified as both Johann Zarco and Marc Marquez suffered falls in the final corner sequence.

Fabio Quartararo capitalized on track conditions that suited the Yamaha machine to secure third position. The top six was completed by Bezzecchi, Joan Mir, and Raul Fernandez.

Other prominent riders were distributed across the grid:

  • Pedro Acosta – seventh with the straight-line dominant KTM
  • Alex Marquez – eighth
  • Johann Zarco – ninth after his crash
  • Jack Miller – tenth
  • Enea Bastianini – eleventh
  • Defending champion Jorge Martin – twelfth

Meanwhile, Brad Binder — the 2020 Czech GP winner — had to settle for 19th position, matching his worst qualifying result of the year.
