Josh Sargent set to join Wolfsburg in €21 million transfer deal

According to ESPN, Josh Sargent is close to finalizing his move to Bundesliga club Wolfsburg for a transfer fee exceeding €21 million.

The United States national team forward has impressed at Norwich City — scoring 46 goals in 124 league appearances since joining from Werder Bremen four years ago. Sargent became the club’s top scorer in the last two Championship seasons.

The 25-year-old striker has recorded five goals in 28 appearances for the US national team — expected to play a key role in next year’s World Cup.

Sargent’s move complements Wolfsburg’s transfer activity, having already signed defensive midfielder Vini Souza from Sheffield United. Meanwhile, Norwich City has lost two players — Jonathan Rowe joining Marseille and Borja Sainz moving to Porto.
