Bagnaia Claims First Pole Position of the Season at Czech MotoGP

Francesco Bagnaia secured his first pole position of the season in Czech MotoGP qualifying at Brno Circuit — setting an unbeatable best lap time of 1 minute 52.303 seconds that remained unchallenged by other riders.

His teammate and main rival, Marc Marquez, had to settle for second starting position after experiencing an incident in the final moments of qualifying — crashing due to visibility issues caused by dust from Johann Zarco’s accident at turn 13.

“Actually there’s nothing wrong, I’m fine. Maybe I was just slightly distracted when trying to attack the time, there was some dust shadow from Zarco’s crash,” Marquez stated at parc ferme. “But I’m quite happy with this second position, so let’s see what happens.”

Bagnaia’s achievement becomes even more remarkable considering the two-time world champion had to fight his way through the first qualifying session (Q1) before securing the top spot.
