Man United Target Young Belgian Keeper After Onana’s Injury

According to BBC Sport, Andre Onana suffered a hamstring injury during training with Manchester United — forcing the club to search for a new goalkeeper in this summer’s transfer window.

The injury means the Cameroonian keeper will definitely miss the pre-season tour to the United States. Moreover, Onana risks being unavailable for the 2025-2026 Premier League opener against Arsenal.

This situation has left manager Ruben Amorim facing a dilemma with only two goalkeeper options:

  • Altay Bayindir
  • Tom Heaton

Both keepers received limited playing time throughout the 2024-2025 season. As a solution, Manchester United has now turned their attention to young Belgian goalkeeper Senne Lammens, who is considered Thibaut Courtois’s successor in the Belgian national team.
