Malaysia scores big against Brunei before facing Indonesia U-23

Nafuzi Zain and the Malaysia U-23 national team achieved a commanding victory over Brunei Darussalam with a score of 7-1 in Group A of ASEAN Cup U-23 2025 at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Jakarta.

The Young Tigers’ seven goals were scored by six different players:

• Danish S (3rd minute)
• Nazry (own goal 4th minute)
• Haykal (32nd minute)
• Haqimi (42nd and 89th minutes)
• Danish H (69th minute)
• Tierney (76th minute)

Meanwhile, Brunei’s consolation goal was scored by Haziq in the 74th minute.

Malaysia now has three points — equal with Philippines who previously defeated them 2-0. Both teams have one remaining match in Group A, where Malaysia will face Indonesia while Philippines takes on Brunei in simultaneously scheduled games.
