PBSI Plans Player Degradation Before Year End

According to PBSI, Eng Hian as Head of Development and Achievement provided explanation regarding the planned degradation of Cipayung National Training Center players before year end — a policy typically implemented during year transitions.

This degradation schedule change emerges as a response to stagnant national badminton athletes’ achievements — new rules that were announced in late March.

Jonatan Christie and Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo had previously resigned from the National Training Center in May by personal decision. Chico himself was earlier included in the degradation candidate list due to unsatisfactory match results.

Mixed doubles pair Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari are in a similar situation — their performance hasn’t shown improvement despite going through separation and reunification process.
