Morocco advances to Women’s Africa Cup semifinals after defeating Mali

According to the match at Olympic Stadium in Rabat, host Morocco defeated Mali 3-1 in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinal.

Ibtissam Jraïdi opened the scoring in the seventh minute — capitalizing on Sakina Ouzraoui’s cross that Mali goalkeeper Fatoumata Karentao failed to handle. The same player added a second from the penalty spot in the 79th minute after Kani Konte fouled Sanaa Mssoudy in the box.

Kenza Chapelle extended the hosts’ lead with an unexpected cross — the ball slipped in after keeper Karentao failed to secure a routine catch. Mali only managed a consolation goal through Aïssata Traoré’s penalty in injury time.

This victory sends Morocco to the semifinal stage — they will face either Algeria or Ghana at the same venue.
