Dubois Weighs 16 Pounds More than Usyk Ahead of Heavyweight Title Clash

Ahead of the heavyweight title fight at Wembley Stadium, Daniel Dubois weighed in 16.5 pounds heavier than Oleksandr Usyk during the weigh-in session at BoxPark on Friday (7/19).

Both fighters received vocal support from their fans during the weigh-in — unlike their first meeting about two years ago when Usyk won by KO in the ninth round.

Dubois, who shocked Anthony Joshua with a knockout victory last September, now records a lighter weight compared to that fight.

Despite often being considered undersized for heavyweight since moving up from cruiserweight, Usyk has proven his technical ability and boxing intelligence — including when defeating Tyson Fury twice last year.

This fight represents Usyk’s chance to become a two-time undisputed heavyweight champion, while Dubois could become the first British boxer to achieve this feat since Lennox Lewis in 1999.
