Luka Modric chooses jersey number 14 at AC Milan

According to Tuttosport, Luka Modric officially joined AC Milan as a free agent on Monday (14/7) — ending his 13-year tenure with Real Madrid.

The Croatian midfielder decided to wear number 14 at his new club — a number he previously wore during his early days at Real Madrid.

“I like this number (14). I know that number 10 at Milan belongs to a great player like Leao,” said Modric.

The 39-year-old couldn’t wear his favorite number 10 that he usually dons for the Croatian national team — as that number already belongs to Rafael Leao at AC Milan.
