Erick Thohir asks supporters not to be pessimistic after World Cup qualification draw

Erick Thohir, PSSI Chairman, addresses the 2026 World Cup Qualification Asia Zone draw results by encouraging supporters to maintain optimism.

Indonesia national team is drawn in Group B alongside Saudi Arabia and Iraq — two teams with strong reputations in Asian football.

Although Indonesia defeated Saudi Arabia 2-0 in the third round about eight months ago, the upcoming matches are predicted to be more challenging — considering Saudi Arabia’s status as the host.

“Don’t immediately become pessimistic and throw criticism. Let’s support our national team in facing this challenge,” said Erick Thohir.
