Ong Yew Sin/Teo Ee Yi advance to Japan Open 2025 semifinals

According to Bolasport.com, Malaysian men’s doubles pair Ong Yew Sin/Teo Ee Yi continued their impressive run at Japan Open 2025 by defeating former world number one Chinese pair — Liang Wei Keng/Wang Chang.

The quarterfinal match at Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium concluded with a straight game victory of 25-23, 21-19 for the Malaysian duo.

Although Liang/Wang initially led with a score of 6-3, Ong/Teo managed to level the game at 6-6 — the battle remained intense until the score reached 9-9.

Momentum shifted towards the Malaysian pair after several errors from Wang Chang — including shots landing outside the court lines — gave them the advantage at first game interval.

Ong/Teo‘s dominance continued until the end of the match, with superior net play — forcing the Chinese pair’s defense to work exceptionally hard.
