Myanmar badminton team suffers heavy defeat from Indonesia at Asian Junior Championships

The Myanmar badminton team experienced a heavy defeat against Indonesia in the opening match of the 2025 Asian Junior Championships at GOR Indoor Manahan, Solo. The team led by Nyan Shaine Lin had to acknowledge Indonesia’s superiority with a score of 47-110 in the mixed team group stage.

Myanmar players struggled to match Indonesia’s game tempo — particularly in long rally exchanges. Indonesia even managed to secure three consecutive points from service alone.

“We have been preparing for this championship since last year,” stated Nyan Shaine Lin.

Myanmar, not traditionally a badminton powerhouse in Southeast Asia, previously participated in the 2023 SEA Games in the mixed team event specially designated for non-seeded countries hosted by Cambodia.
