Indonesia National Team to Face Iraq Again in World Cup Qualifiers

According to the draw, Indonesia national team — now coached by Patrick Kluivert — will meet Saudi Arabia and Iraq again in Group B of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers fourth round.

The last meeting with Iraq — under Shin Tae-yong’s leadership — ended in a heavy defeat for the Garuda Squad at Basra International Stadium with a score of 1-5. Indonesia’s lone goal was scored by Shayne Pattynama.

In that match, Shin Tae-yong fielded two local strikers as starters:

• Dimas Drajad
• Dendy Sulistyawan

Rafael Struick came on as a substitute in the 40th minute, while Sananta and Hokky Caraka remained unused on the bench.
