Tundra Esports and Team Spirit Secure Last 4 at Dota 2 EWC 2025

Tundra Esports and Team Spirit have become the first two teams to advance to the semifinals of Dota 2’s EWC 2025 following a series of grueling duels.

Tundra endured a challenge against BetBoom Team, who had displayed strong form throughout the recent group stage. However, Tundra’s strategic draft intelligence and ability to capitalize on their opponents’ mistakes ultimately secured their victory in the decisive stages.

Game 1 saw Tundra claimed the opener with a high-durability hero lineup to counter BB’s aggressive strategy. Solid initiations and defensive plays by Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon gave them the upper hand in securing key objectives, paving the way for Remco “Crystallis” Arets to dominate his lane opponent.

BB then replied swiftly in Game 2, employing their signature early aggression. Their stronger draft composition made it difficult for Tundra to group effectively and control their lanes. Roughly 39 minutes in, BB leveled the series 1-1.

The decider game was an intense back-and-forth affair. While BB started strong in the early game, Tundra turned the tide during the mid game. The match remained tightly contested until Whitemon crucially found an opening around the 40-minute mark, enabling his team to secure the Roshan kill. With this advantage, Tundra’s aggression became unstoppable, forcing BB to concede at the 50-minute mark as Tundra destroyed their base.

On the other side, Team Spirit maintaining their consistent post-group stage form, decisively eliminated Gaimin Gladiators with a clean 2-0 sweep. After a tough battle in Game 1, Spirit’s mental fortitude proved decisive as they exert greater control in Game 2, denying GG any opportunity for a comeback.

Both semifinalists now await the outcomes of the final quarterfinals – Parivision vs Aurora Gaming and Team Liquid vs Team Falcons – to decide their opponents for the next round.
