Rehan/Gloria fail to reach Japan Open 2025 quarter-finals

Indonesian mixed doubles pair Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja ended their journey at Japan Open 2025 after suffering a defeat in the second round.

Playing at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium, the Indonesian representatives had to acknowledge the superiority of third seeds from Hong Kong — Tang Chun Man/Tse Ying Suet with scores of 17-21, 19-21.

In the match that lasted 45 minutes, Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja admitted their team performed below expectations.

“Today we made many unforced errors, and our service returns didn’t allow us to take attacking positions,” Gloria stated through PBSI broadcast.

This defeat closes Indonesia’s chances in the mixed doubles category at this BWF Super 750 tournament.
