Amri/Nita stopped in Japan Open 2025 round of 16

Indonesian mixed doubles pair Amri Syahnawi/Nita Violina Marwah ended their journey at Japan Open 2025 after being defeated by home representatives Hiroki Midorikawa/Natsu Saito at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium.

This round of 16 match marked the Japanese pair’s third victory over Indonesian representatives — following their previous wins against Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Albertha Nathaniel Pasaribu in the Asia Championship semifinals and Indonesia Open 2025 quarterfinals.

In the first game, both pairs demonstrated intense play with tight scores — starting with Amri/Nita’s 6-4 lead which was later equalized by Midorikawa/Saito. The Japanese pair managed a slim lead at the interval with 11-10, despite trailing after Amri/Nita scored two consecutive points. Midorikawa/Saito’s persistence took them to 15-12, though Amri’s aggressive play narrowed the gap to 14-15.
