Bournemouth signs Serbian goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic from Chelsea

Bournemouth has completed the transfer of goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic from Chelsea for £25 million.

The Serbian international — who has seven caps for his national team — has signed a five-year contract at the Vitality Stadium following an impressive season with Strasbourg.

During his loan spell at the Ligue 1 club, Petrovic recorded 10 clean sheets in 31 matches — an achievement that earned him the club’s player of the season award.

“I came to Bournemouth because I want to grow and play at the highest level. Together with this club, with these facilities, I believe we can achieve it,” said Petrovic.

The arrival of the 25-year-old goalkeeper fills the vacancy after Kepa Arrizabalaga’s loan was not made permanent — with the Spanish keeper joining Arsenal. Petrovic becomes Andoni Iraola’s second summer signing following the arrival of left-back Adrien Truffert from Rennes.
