Indonesia Placed in Lowest Pot for 2026 World Cup Qualifiers

Indonesia Placed in Lowest Pot for 2026 World Cup Qualifiers

According to the latest announcement from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), Indonesia has been placed in Pot 3the lowest tier—for the fourth-round draw of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.

This placement sets up a challenging path for Patrick Kluivert’s squad, who now face the prospect of being grouped with some of Asia’s top teams from the Middle East in the next phase of qualification.

The official pot allocation for the fourth-round draw is as follows:

  • Pot 1: Saudi Arabia, Qatar

  • Pot 2: Iraq, United Arab Emirates

  • Pot 3: Indonesia, Oman

To secure a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup—which will be hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada—Indonesia must finish as group winners in this fourth qualifying round. Only the top teams from each group will earn direct qualification.

This stage marks a significant test for Indonesia’s developing squad under Kluivert’s leadership, as they aim to make history and compete on football’s biggest stage.
