Sumardji reveals why Indonesia struggles with long training camps

According to BolaSport.com, Sumardji as Indonesia national team manager explained why the Garuda team faces difficulties in conducting long-term training camps for 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.

“Most of our players are playing abroad — this makes it challenging for us to gather them for extended training camps,” said Sumardji.

This situation differs from Qatar’s ability to hold a two-week training camp this July — coach Julen Lopetegui has given his players a month’s rest after completing the Third Round.

The Qatar squad will reconvene for Fourth Round World Cup 2026 Qualifiers preparations in Asian zone — the training camp is scheduled to last two weeks to maximize team performance.
