Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto secured victory in an all-Indonesian match during the round of 32 at Japan Open 2025 in Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium, Japan.

Facing Indonesia Open 2025 finalists — Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani — Fajar/Rian managed to win in straight games with scores of 24-22, 21-12.

The match started challenging for Fajar/Rian — they trailed 5-13 in the first game as Sabar/Reza dominated with aggressive play.

However, momentum shifted when Fajar/Rian scored five consecutive points — bringing the score to 10-13 and eventually turning the tide to win the first game.

In the second game, Fajar/Rian played with more confidence and controlled the match flow — securing victory with a more convincing score of 21-12.
