Port FC makes history as first foreign club to win Piala Presiden

Port FC wrote new history in the 2025 Piala Presiden — the Thai club became the first foreign team to win this pre-season tournament since its inception in 2015.

The Thai team defeated Oxford United with a score of 2-1 in the final match at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung Regency.

PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir emphasized — the presence of foreign clubs in this tournament is part of a long-term strategy to improve Indonesian football competitiveness.

This becomes crucial considering Indonesian League rankings still lag behind other ASEAN countries, with Thailand holding the top position in the region and ranking eighth in Asia.
