Persija Jakarta’s 2025/2026 Super League Schedule Officially Released

Persija Jakarta has received the official match schedule for the 2025/2026 Super League season. The team, led by Brazilian head coach Mauricio Souza, is set to kick off the campaign with a home match against Persita Tangerang at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) on August 10, 2025.

Home opener offers early advantage

Playing at home in the opening match is seen as an advantage for the Macan Kemayoran. Backed by passionate support from Jakmania at JIS, the team is expected to start the season with high confidence.

Veteran winger Riko Simanjuntak expressed his optimism ahead of the first match:

“We’ve worked hard throughout the preseason. Playing the opening match at home will be a key moment to gain confidence.”

El Clasico Indonesia set for January 2026

The highly anticipated clash against archrivals Persib Bandung—widely known as El Clasico Indonesia—is scheduled for January 11, 2026. The match is expected to be intense, given the long-standing rivalry and emotionally charged history between the two sides.

Key players and team ambition

This season, Persija is reinforced by several notable players including Riko Simanjuntak, Witan Sulaeman, and new goalkeeper Adilson Maringa. They are expected to play crucial roles in Souza’s tactical system, which emphasizes fast-paced, possession-based football.

Coach Souza has set a target of finishing in the top three this season, with the ultimate goal of returning to Asian-level competition.

Persija Jakarta’s opening three matches:

  • August 10, 2025: Persija vs Persita (Jakarta)

  • August 17, 2025: Arema FC vs Persija (Malang)

  • August 24, 2025: Persija vs PSM Makassar (Jakarta)

With a challenging start to the season, squad depth and consistency will be crucial for Persija Jakarta to remain competitive at the top end of the 2025/2026 Super League standings.
