US National Team Announces Friendlies Against Ecuador and Australia

According to U.S. Soccer, the United States national team has scheduled two friendly matches against Ecuador and Australia as part of their 2026 World Cup preparation.

The first match will be held at Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas — against Ecuador on October 10, followed by the second game against Australia at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colorado — on October 14.

Both opponents have secured their tickets to the 2026 World Cup — Ecuador will make their fifth appearance, while Australia marks their sixth consecutive appearance in the tournament.

The team under Mauricio Pochettino has automatically qualified as co-hosts alongside Mexico and Canada. Previously, they finished as Gold Cup runners-up this summer and placed fourth in the Nations League finals in March.

The United States has also scheduled friendly matches against South Korea in Harrison, New Jersey — on September 6, and Japan in Columbus, Ohio — three days later.
