Pacu Jalur Dance Goes Viral After Marc Marquez Win

The traditional sport of pacu jalur from Kuantan Singingi, Riau, has gone viral internationally under the nickname “aura farming”, thanks to the distinctive moves of the tukang tari (dance paddler) during the boat race.

This unique gesture captured global attention when Marc Marquez performed the pacu jalur-style celebration after his victory at the Sachsenring Circuit. The Spanish rider raised both arms above his bike, mimicking the signature tukang tari movement after crossing the finish line.

Previously, Moto2 rider Deniz Öncü also showcased a similar move during his celebration. The trend continued into the Red Bull Rookies Cup, where Indonesian talent Veda Ega Pratama did the pacu jalur dance after winning Race 2.
