Nolan Siegel to miss second Iowa race after crash

Arrow McLaren driver Nolan Siegel — is forced to miss the second NTT IndyCar Series race at Iowa Speedway after medical team did not clear him to compete.

The solo accident occurred when the 20-year-old driver lost control and hit the wall at turn 4 during yesterday’s Synk 275 — resulting in a 24th place finish.

“There’s no place I’d rather be than out there driving today, especially from P5, one of my best starting positions of the season,” stated Siegel in team announcement.

Arrow McLaren team principal Tony Kanaan indicated that the team decided not to rush into finding a replacement — given the very short time before the race. The team will prepare contingency plans if Siegel cannot compete in Toronto next week.

Despite facing various challenges in his second IndyCar season, Siegel recently achieved his best result finishing fourth at Mid-Ohio — and qualified fifth for the Iowa race that he unfortunately cannot participate in.
