Leong Jun Hao ready to face defending champion at Japan Open 2025

Leong Jun Hao emerges as a potential threat to Alwi Farhan at Japan Open 2025 — the Super 750 tournament scheduled at Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium from July 15-20.

The 24-year-old player stands as Malaysia’s sole hope in men’s singles — following Lee Zii Jia’s withdrawal due to injury. Both players could meet in the round of 16, but they must first overcome their respective first-round challenges.

Leong faces a tough test against eighth seed and defending champion, Alex Lanier from France. “For preparation, I’m following all plans and training given by the coach until tournament day. In Japan, we will prepare and discuss ways to face him,” Leong stated as reported by Harian Metro.
