Messi Scores Twice as Inter Miami Defeats Nashville in MLS

Lionel Messi showcased his brilliance once again by scoring twice as Inter Miami secured a 2-1 victory against Nashville SC in MLS action.

The Argentine superstar extended his record as the only player in MLS history to score multiple goals in five consecutive matches. This achievement puts Messi level with Nashville’s Sam Surridge at the top of the MLS scoring charts — both having netted 16 goals.

Messi’s opening goal came from a perfectly executed free kick — finding the bottom corner past goalkeeper Joe Willis. This marked his 69th direct free kick goal in his career and his sixth for Miami.

  • Scoring in six consecutive MLS matches
  • Tallying 16 goals from 15 games this season
  • Record of five straight multi-goal matches

Messi’s second goal came after intercepting an errant pass from keeper Willis, before calmly rounding the goalkeeper and finishing with precision.

Hany Mukhtar had equalized for Nashville through a delightful cross from Andy Nájar, but Inter Miami ultimately claimed victory — leaving them just five points behind the Eastern Conference leaders.
