England Ready to Face Pressure Ahead of Crucial Wales Clash

Facing a crucial match against Wales in Euro 2025, coach Sarina Wiegman and the England team demonstrate their readiness — despite the immense pressure awaiting in their final Group D fixture.

The Lionesses need a victory to advance after suffering a 2-1 defeat to France and bouncing back with a commanding 4-0 win over Netherlands. Wales — already eliminated after consecutive losses — are determined to mount a strong challenge.

“For them it’s a big game, but for us it’s equally important because we have to win,” stated Wiegman during the press conference. “We’ve heard about the rivalry, but we have passion too and want to perform at our best.”

Defender Alex Greenwood emphasizes that her team is accustomed to handling pressure — which serves as additional motivation for the England squad.

“That pressure comes from our success and we should actually be proud of it. We enjoy pressure and thrive in these moments,” explained Greenwood.

Wiegman confirms all players are ready to play the full 90 minutes, despite some arriving at the tournament with limited playing time.
