Marc Marquez claims dramatic victory in German GP Sprint Race

Marc Marquez secured a dramatic victory in the German GP Sprint Race — asserting his Sachsenring dominance by overtaking Marco Bezzecchi on the final lap in wet conditions.

Despite starting from pole position, the Factory Ducati rider dropped to fifth after a late braking incident at the first corner. The wet but drying track conditions forced riders to exercise extreme caution when seeking overtaking opportunities.

Marquez skillfully utilized the available 15 laps — successfully passing Johann Zarco, Fabio di Giannantonio, and Fabio Quartararo before finally defeating Bezzecchi on the last lap with a brilliant move at Turn 1.

This victory marks Marquez’s tenth sprint race win this season, only missing out at the British GP. Francesco Bagnaia, finishing 12th, falls further behind in the standings — now trailing Alex Marquez, who finished eighth, by 60 points.

  • Jack Miller (Pramac Yamaha) – P5
  • Brad Binder (KTM) – P6
  • Johann Zarco (LCR Honda) – P7
  • Pedro Acosta – P9

This result strengthens Marc’s position at the top of the standings with a 78-point advantage over his brother Alex heading into Sunday’s main race.
