India stands at 316/5 after KL Rahul’s century against England

According to live reports from Lord’s Cricket Ground, India reached 316/5 at tea — trailing England’s total of 387 by 71 runs.

KL Rahul achieved an impressive century before a run-out incident changed the course of the match. Rishabh Pant was run out while attempting to give strike to Rahul who was approaching his century before lunch.

After lunch, Shoaib Bashir claimed Rahul’s wicket with an impressive off-spinner — but subsequently suffered a finger injury when catching a hard hit from Ravindra Jadeja.

  • India lost two set batsmen within 11 balls
  • Eight centuries have been scored in this tour — a new record for India’s away series
  • Archer delivered bowling reaching speeds of 90 mph

Jadeja (40) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (25) built a stable partnership after India wobbled at 254/5. Both successfully weathered a difficult period against Jofra Archer’s intimidating fast bowling.

“I focus on being the best batsman I can be, not just chasing runs” — stated Rahul who has scored two centuries in the last three Tests.
