Cadillac F1 confirms talks with Mick Schumacher for 2026 season

Cadillac Formula 1 team principal Graeme Lowdon has revealed that his team is in negotiations with Mick Schumacher for the 2026 season contract.

The team led by CEO Dan Towriss and featuring 1978 F1 champion Mario Andretti on its board of directors — will join as the eleventh team in the championship next year.

“Yeah, we’re talking to Mick,” Lowdon stated during the High Performance podcast.

Lowdon also clarified rumors about Daniel Ricciardo — the Australian driver has expressed no interest in returning to the championship. Additionally, the team is in discussions with Mercedes reserve driver Valtteri Bottas and former Red Bull driver Sergio Perez.

Cadillac team emphasizes their search for drivers motivated by team success — not individuals looking to prove personal points. “Our team is not a vehicle for someone to prove something. Drivers must do their best for their team,” Lowdon added.
